Insurance

Are eyeglasses tax deductible?
Yes, all prescription eyeglasses and prescription sunglasses are considered a medical device. Any amount you pay towards your eyewear is considered tax deductible.
Are eyeglasses FSA and HSA eligible?
Yes. If you have an FSA or HSA debit card, you enter that card's information at check out, just like a normal credit card. Another option is to check out using your credit card and then get reimbursed directly from your FSA/HSA provider by supplying a receipt or invoice.
How do I use my insurance on Befitting.com?
It's easy! Start by going to befitting.com/insurance and select your insurance company. If Befitting is an in-network provider for you, click the toggle next to Shop with Insurance to enter your benefit information. Your out-of-pocket cost will be calculated for you throughout your shopping experience. If Befitting is an out-of-network provider for you, then you can still buy from us and receive reimbursement from your insurance. Once you receive your order, we can provide you with an itemized invoice to provide to your insurance carrier for reimbursement. What if I don't know the name of my insurance company?
In many cases, there is a logo or vision care benefit provided when you sign up for health care coverage. A great resource is your employer HR department and HR portals. They should be able to give you the information. Once you know the vision insurance provider name, visit us at befitting.com/insurance and select your insurance company.
What if my insurance company isn't on your list?
Many vision insurance companies will let you shop our site as an out-of-network provider. Simply shop our site and make a purchase. Once you receive your order, we can provide you with an itemized invoice to provide to your insurance carrier for reimbursement. We recommend you check with your insurance carrier to determine your specific out-of-network coverage before placing an order.
If I previously placed an order can I apply my insurance to it?
Unfortunately, we cannot retroactively apply in-network insurance benefits. You may be able to submit a claim directly with your provider though. We recommend checking with them to find out the best process.
What if I decide to send my order back? Do my insurance benefits get reinstated?
As soon as the glasses are returned and received by Befitting.com, we send a request to the insurance company to reinstate benefits. Be patient though - it can take up to ten business days from the time we send the request for the benefits to be reinstated. Please call your insurance provider directly to follow up, we will not be able to access your benefit status.
Can I use my benefits for everyone on my plan?
You can shop on Befitting and use your benefits for anyone that is eligible under your plan. It is important to verify that you are entering the unique member information for the person you are shopping for eyeglasses. One transaction per person, our system requires a separate transaction for each person on your plan for accurate benefit calculations.
Are Sunglasses Covered By FSA and HSA?
Yes, if they are prescription sunglasses.
What do I do if my member information isn't valid?

What do I do if the benefit amount showing up is wrong?
Please contact your insurance company to verify your benefit amount. If the amount calculated on Befitting is not aligned to your benefit amount, please contact us at help@befitting.com
Can I buy for more than one member at a time?
We require a separate transaction for each person on your plan for accurate benefit calculations.
What if I find a pair of glasses that cost more than my benefit amount?
If Befitting is one of your in-network providers, as you browse the site, we provides a strike through price on the frames which reflects your remaining out of pocket cost. If you find glasses that are under your benefit amount, you will see $0 for your out of pocket cost. Just remember, you only have one chance to use your benefit, so make sure you're not leaving any benefit money on the table! Go get those fancy frames - you deserve it!
Why don't I see my insurance discount?
Make sure you have logged in with your benefits. Check the top right of our site - is the Shop with Insurance toggle clicked? Did you successfully log in with your member information? Once you have completed your log in, the insurance calculations will be visible while you shop.
Can I use the current promo code with my insurance?
We cannot combine discounts and promotions with the insurance pricing. Your insurance benefits usually provide you the best price but feel free to compare the promotion discount versus the insurance benefits to be sure you are getting the best value.
How many pairs of glasses can I buy?
Most insurance plans allow for one pair of glasses per year under your full benefits. Befitting offers 30% off any additional frames purchased, prescription or non-prescription. This can be done on either the same transaction or in a future purchase.

What frames can I put my prescription in?
Under "Sunglasses" in our global navigation you'll find "Prescription Sun". This page will show you all of the frames that you can put your prescription in. Once we receive your prescription and measurements, we will confirm that your prescription is a fit for the frame you selected.
What lens color options do you have for prescription sunglasses?

We currently offer lenses in three color options for prescription: Grey, Brown, and Green (available in tinted polycarbonate or polarized polycarbonate).

What is the difference between polarized and tinted lenses?

Polarized lenses eliminate glare with a special filter built into the lens. Objects look more crisp and clear, and details are easier to see. People who participate in winter or water sports (overachievers!) find polarized sunglasses drastically cut the glare and help them see better. Polarized lenses are especially great for horizontal glare you get while driving, such as reflections on the road from water, ice and snow.

Tinted lenses only reduce glare, similar to when you step into the shade. And both polarized and tinted lenses provide 100% protection from harmful UV rays.

We got you covered! All of our lenses (with or without prescription) come with full UV protection.
Do you provide lens replacements for sunglasses?
No, sorry, we do not provide lenses for replacement or individual purchase.
What is the warranty on my sunglasses?
We provide a one-year warranty against manufacturing defects. Beyond one year, and if available, any warranty issues need to be addressed by you directly to the manufacturer.

What is your cancellation policy?

What is your return policy?
Although it's rare, sometimes things just don't work out. Don't worry, you can return your glasses within 30-days of receiving them. I received my sunglasses and my prescription has changed! Can I exchange them for the correct prescription?

Please note that we will need an updated, valid prescription from your eye care provider in order to process the exchange.

Can I combine discounts and promotions?

If any product is already marked down on the site (slashed through pricing), you will be able to apply your promo code to the sale at checkout.

There is not an option to stack promotional codes. You will want to use the promo code at checkout that gives you the best value.

What if the new promotion is a better discount than when I purchased my glasses?

If your purchase was made within a week of a new promotion, we will be happy to apply the new promotion to your purchase. The difference will be refunded to your original form of payment.

How do I order my glasses?

Once you find your frames, click the “Choose lenses” button.

You will be guided through a series of selections to find the right lenses for your needs. Need a little guidance? Please visit How to Choose Lenses for all the informaiton you will need to help your selection.

Once your lenses are selected, you will be prompted to enter your prescription. **If you do not have it on hand or prefer to send to us via secure email, select No.

Simply enter the numbers as written on your prescription into the coordinating field.


For the PD section, if it is on your written prescription, enter the information in the fields provided. If you have two numbers, right and left eye, check the box and enter in the corresponding fields. You don't have your PD? No problem, we can help! Simply click on the link for Measure Your PD and follow the simple steps to obtaining your measurment. Once completed, the results will automatically be filled in to the form.

Once all of your prescription details are entered, please read and check the prescripton acknowledgement box. NOTE: The prescription entered online will be the only prescription fulfilled, even if another copy is provided to us.

I see you ask for a PD, what's this?

PD is an abbreviation for pupillary distance, which means the distance from the center of one pupil to the center of the other pupil.

Why do we need this? Because this measurement helps us manufacture lenses that provide crystal clear vision.

At times, this may be provided on your prescription. But if it is not, we can help! The Befitting PD Measurement Tool is easy to use.

Simply follow the directions and make a note of the results for later use.

My prescription doesn't have a PD on it, what should I do?

One option is to call your vision care provider (the phone number should be on your prescription), ask for your PD, and write it on the prescription like this: "PD-63 " if you are given a single number, or “PD R-32 L-31” if you are given two measurements.

If you are unable to obtain your PD from your vision care provider, we can help! The Befitting PD Measurement Tool is easy to use.

What are the different types of coatings?

Anti-reflective coatings improve your vision significantly by reducing glare. In addition, the coating creates a much better finished look to your eyeglasses with your lenses less noticeable.

What's my size

How is sizing determined?

Befitting has created a generalized sizing chart to help you narrow your search. It is a great way to create an initial selection that is within the sizing of your current eyewear.

Sizing is calculated using manufacturer measurements to create a size range from XS to L+. The sizing formula is A (lens width) + DBL (distance between lenses) = SIZE.

  • XS: 65mm or less
  • S: 66-67
  • S/M: 68-69
  • M: 70-71
  • M/L: 72-73
  • L: 74-75
  • L+: 76 or greater

Example: Ray-Ban Wayfarer RB2140 is 50 (A) – 22 (DBL) for a total of 72. This falls into size M/L

How do I calculate my size?

Finding your size is easier than you think! The A and DBL measurements can be found on inside of the temple of your frames. The first number is the lens width and the second number is the distance between lenses. Once you add the two together, compare your size measurement to the size chart to determine your size!

Achieving a precise fit

Will my glasses need to be adjusted to fit me?
As with any day-to-day wear item, small adjustments will need to be made to ensure the proper fit and comfort of your Befitting frames. Our optical experts have prepared these recommendations for adjustments you can make at home. You’ve got this!
Are the nose pads pinching your nose?

If your nose pads are causing your specs to sit too high or feel too tight on your nose, there is a simple fix.

Holding the eyeglasses firmly in one hand, open the nose pads by gently pressing the pad side of your thumb towards the lens. Go slowly to avoid dramatically changing the angle of the nose pad. Do this in small increments while keeping the angle of the nose pads in tact.

Do the nose pads feel too loose?

If the nose pads on your frames are too wide and are making the glasses sit too low on your face, we’ve got an easy solution you can tackle yourself.

While holding the glasses in one hand, gently pinch and press the nose pads from the backside with your forefinger away from the lens. Make sure to go slow and avoid dramatically changing the angle of the nose pad.

Can I adjust the temples (the arms) of my glasses?

Whether your glasses are feeling too loose or too tight, temple adjustments are relatively simple and you’ll be wearing your frames with comfort and ease in no time. Your new frames should be fairly pliable, but you can run the area you are attempting to reshape under hot tap water to warm it up. Never use boiled water or a hair dryer as you could permanently damage your frames. As you adjust your Befitting specs, be sure to use gentle and steady pressure, you’ll need to carefully brace the area you are reshaping to create resistance.

What do I do if my glasses don't feel secure on my face?

If your glasses are slipping or loose, a simple tightening adjustment to the temples will likely fix the problem.

Again, go slowly as you do these adjustments and try wearing the frames after each adjustment to ensure the perfect fit. To tighten the temple for a more secure fit you’ll need to either increase the inward angle of the temple ends, or increase the downward angle of the temple ends. While holding the main part of the frame in one hand, gently pinch the temple ends with your other hand to pull them downward or inward depending on the adjustment needed.

What if my glasses feel tight over my ears?

If your glasses are too tight at the temple or hurting behind your ear or your ear itself, you’ll need to make a small adjustment to your temples to resolve this problem.

To loosen the temple for a more comfortable fit you’ll need to either decrease the inward angle of the temple ends or decrease the downward angle of the temple ends. While holding the main part of the frame in one hand, gently pinch the temple ends with your other hand to pull them upwards or outwards depending on the adjustment needed.

Making your glasses

How long will it take to get my glasses?

Once you’ve placed your order, please submit your prescription following the instructions in your confirmation email. We will verify your prescription with your vision care provider, which typically takes 2-3 business days. Following verification, the manufacturing of your custom glasses—including frames, lenses, treatments, and coatings—usually takes about two weeks. Once your glasses are prepared for shipping, the delivery time will depend on the shipping method you chose. For more details on shipping times, please refer to our Shipping section.

What if I receive my new glasses and the prescription does not feel correct?

Befitting wants you to look good and see great! But if for any reason your vision is not as sharp as expected in your new eyewear, we need to hear from you! Please follow the steps below so we may address your vision concerns ASAP.

  1. Email us at help@befitting.com and include:
      1.  Your order number
      2.   A brief description of your vision concerns
      3.   A picture or selfie of you in your new eyewear
      4.   A copy of your prescripton

  2. The Befitting Customer Care team will review your concerns and a staff licensed optician will follow up with you directly.

  3. With you, our optician will determine the best resolution and next steps.

  4. Under the Befitting 60 day exchange, we are happy to set up an exchange with the optician's guidance, and if needed, an updated prescription.
What if my prescription has changed after I received my new glasses?

We offer a 60 day exchange for prescription changes. Please call our Customer Care Team at Call 1-833-BEFITTING (1-833-233-4884) or email help@befitting.com. We will be happy to assist you with the exchange. Please note that we will need an updated, valid prescription from your eye care provider in order to process the exchange.

We understand that plans can change. You can cancel your order at any time before it has been submitted for manufacturing.

Return Policy

Although it's rare, sometimes things just don't work out. Don't worry, you can return your glasses within 30 days of receiving them. We will be happy to assist you with the return and as needed, email you a prepaid return shipping label.

Contact Lens Return Policy

If you are unsatisfied with your order, here’s how our return process works for contact lenses:

  • Return Eligibility:
  • You can return your contact lenses within 30 days of delivery for a full refund and reinstatement of your insurance benefits (if utilized). To be eligible for a return, the contact lens boxes must be unopened, undamaged, and free from any writing or defacement.

  • Return Process:
  • To initiate a return, we will provide you with a prepaid return shipping label for your convenience. Once your label is received, simply place the prepaid label on the return shipment box. Once your return is received, please allow up to 5 business days for the refund to be processed to your original form of payment, and, if utilized, up to 7-10 business days for your insurance benefits to be reinstated.

  • Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Orders:
  • If you've received a damaged, defective, or incorrect order, please contact our Customer Care Team immediately at 1-833-BEFITTING (1-833-233-4884) or email us at Help@befitting.com. If you believe that you have received defective products, please do not dispose of them; they may need to be returned to the manufacturer for analysis. We will replace any boxes deemed defective by the manufacturer upon return. Lastly, stolen, lost or items damaged accidentally will not be replaced.

Warranty

Frame Warranty

Every frame is protected by a one-year warranty from the date of purchase, specifically covering manufacturing defects. Please note that damage resulting from wear and tear, accidental damage, or improper use, including scratched or damaged lenses, is not covered under this warranty. Additionally, lost or stolen items do not qualify for warranty coverage. If you encounter a warranty issue, please email photos along with a detailed description of the problem to our Customer Care Team at Help@befitting.com. Our team will assist you and provide guidance based on our warranty terms and conditions.

What if my prescription has changed after I received my new glasses?

We understand that prescriptions can change. If you find that your prescription has changed within 60 days of receiving your glasses, we are here to help. Please contact our Customer Care Team by calling 1-833-BEFITTING (1-833-233-4884) or emailing help@befitting.com to initiate an exchange. For the exchange process, we will require an updated, valid prescription from your eye care provider.

What if my prescription has changed after I received my new contacts?

For prescription changes, we will provide you with a prepaid return shipping for any unopened boxes and create an immediate replacement with your new prescription. To initiate this process, please contact our Customer Care Team at 1-833-BEFITTING (1-833-233-4884) or emailing help@befitting.com .
